Leyla is a commercial and residential property solicitor with five years’ post qualification experience in private practice and a further 10 years’ in-house experience working as legal counsel to a privately owned property investment portfolio.

After qualifying in 2001, then working in a specialist residential property firm, Leyla moved to the City office of Thomas Eggar LLP (now Irwin Mitchell LLP) to specialise in commercial property. During her time there, Leyla acted for an assortment of clients, from investment trusts to retail chains, and for both landlords and tenants. Leyla’s work covers all aspects of commercial property, including acquisitions and disposals, general commercial property management and landlord and tenant work, as well as residential conveyancing.

Having developed a practical, solutions-based, commercial approach to property law, Leyla was recruited to work in-house for a successful investment property company. As sole legal counsel, her role involved not only providing legal advice and expertise, but also having a strong grasp of other legal issues involved and considering commercial realities.
